Photography and Videography Guidelines
GENERAL GUIDELINES
We are delighted that you are considering Cantigny Park as the location for your photos
and/or videos. To ensure a positive experience for you while maintaining a pleasant experience for our many visitors, please be aware of the
following rules and guidelines.
Photo Restrictions
- Please do not enter flowerbeds, plant displays or mulched areas. Remain on the pathways and grassy turf at all times.
- No alcoholic beverages may be brought into Cantigny Park.
- No pets.
- Do not disturb or remove plants, plant labels, containers or park signage.
- Do not block the access to entrances, pathways or museum and garden areas.
Please be courteous to others. Cantigny Park is a public place where visitors are welcome in all public areas, and regular business continues during normal operating hours. Some festivals and special events draw larger crowds. A listing of all events can be found on our calendar.
PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY GUIDELINES
Please note that Cantigny does not accept reservations for wedding and portrait photo sessions.
The general photography/videography guidelines outlined here are intended for all guests, but in addition to observing the photo restrictions, professional photographers/videographers must obtain a permit if they wish to use Cantigny as a setting for formal, posed photography/videography. This includes: weddings, family, engagements, prom, homecoming, graduation photography/videography or similar.
Those celebrating wedding ceremonies, receptions or other
special occasions
scheduled at Cantigny are welcome to take
photographs or videos during their rental time at no
additional fee. Please visit our Facilities Rentals page and
our Weddings and Banquets page to learn more about holding your events and celebrations at Cantigny.
COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILM/VIDEO SHOOTS
Commercial photography, video and film shoots must be arranged at least one week in advance of the shoot. Contact Visitor Services for more information on policies and fees at 630.668.5161.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
If you require a permit, you may purchase one in the Gift Shop or at the Parking Booth. This permit can be paid for with Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. Cash and checks made out to Cantigny will also be accepted.
Keep in mind, you may also purchase one in advance by filling out the application form here.
The photography permit is non-refundable.
The permit does not include access to any Cantigny museums or buildings for the purpose of photography.

Parking: Regular parking fees will apply for each vehicle within the party. Vehicles may load and unload passengers in the front of the main parking lot. After the photography party has dropped off all clients the vehicles must park in the main parking lot.
To avoid congestion in the Visitors Center, please meet and collect your party in front of the Visitors Center. Please do not congregate in front of the Visitors Center kiosk.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS
Cantigny reserves the right to refuse admittance for photography/videography and/or change its photo policy without advance notice.
Access to photo locations may be restricted at Cantigny’s discretion.
Cantigny reserves the right to limit groups arriving within one hour of closing, which is at sunset.
