Tour Options & Times

Best Times to Visit
Cantigny Park has many things to see and do no matter when you visit. However, many schoolchildren visit the Robert R. McCormick Museum in the fall (September through November) and spring (April and May). Most schools visit between 10 am and 1 pm. Because museum visits are by guided tour only, visitors during those hours will accompany school groups on tour. To avoid crowds, we suggest you try to plan your visit in the afternoon on school days.

Weekend days in good weather are always crowded. We suggest you plan your visit in the mornings on weekends.

Tour Tickets
Tours are free and reservations are not required although tours fill up early on busy days. Free timed tickets are available and may be picked up from the Tour Coordinator at the Museum entrance.

Standard Tours
Visits to the Robert R. McCormick Museum are by guided tour only, on the following schedule.

• February: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm
• March 1 to April 30, Tuesday - Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm
• May 1 to October 31, Tuesday - Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm
• November 1 to December 30, Tuesday - Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm
• Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve

Tour Options
November 1 to April 30

• 1 hour long full house tours begin on the hour from 10 am to 3 pm
• ½ hour long first floor accessible tours begin on the ½ hour from 10:30 pm to 2:30 pm
• 15 minute East Wing tours are offered on demand with the final tour beginning at 3:30 pm

May 1 to October 31

The final full tour of the day begins at 4 pm with the final East Wing tour beginning at 4:30 pm

Accessible Tours
The Museum’s first floor is accessible to visitors by wheelchair or walker. Please use the ramped wheelchair entrance on the Museum’s north side. We regret that Segway Personal Transporters and motorized scooters cannot be accommodated inside the museum. Visitors may borrow conventional wheelchairs in the Museum or at the Visitors Center for use while touring Cantigny. Service dogs are welcome in the museum. Accessible restrooms are located in the Visitors center.

Group Tours
Reservations are strongly suggested for groups of 10 or more. Please call 630-260-8162 for reservations.

Tour Guidelines
Photography is prohibited in the Museum as guides and participants find it distracting. Please feel free to capture your photographs throughout the gardens of Cantigny instead.

Please disable the ringer on your cell phone so as not to disturb other visitors.

Food, beverages and chewing gum are not allowed in the Museum. Bottled water must be capped.
