The Cantigny Experience at a glance:

Perseid Meteor Shower Star Party with Adler Planetarium

CANCELLED | The Perseid Meteor Shower will be lighting up the night sky on Friday, but unfortunately, we won't be able to see it here in Chicagoland due to expected rain and complete cloud cover. We are hopeful it will clear up, so if it does we've included a few tips on how you can view the meteor shower from home once the sky is clear enough to view it. #LookUp.

The Adler Planetarium and Cantigny Park invite you and your family to come and enjoy one of the most dazzling sights of the night sky in 2016, the Perseid Meteor Shower. For the second year in a row, the Adler will host their Annual Star Party at Cantigny Park.

Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Cantigny Park as “shooting stars”—which are actually meteors—blaze through the night sky. Build your own rocket and send it flying through the air with our special stomp rocket launcher, construct a galaxy-sized puzzle of the night sky, gather ‘round the (pretend) campfire for Constellation Storytime, and much more! Learn about the Universe through hands-on educational activities, Adler astronomers and an abundance of telescope volunteers from the Naperville Astronomical Association and Chicago Astronomical Society. We hope you’ll join us for a fun-filled night of meteor chasing and skywatching!

Advance sales end on August 11 at midnight. This event will occur rain or shine. All ticket sales are final.

Le Jardin will be open for dinner from 5-7:30 pm.  Bertie's Coffee Shop and the Cantigny Shop will be open until 11 pm.

No refunds will be granted. Please visit adlerplanetarium.org for event times, scheduled programming, and Cantigny Park’s rules and restrictions.
